Bot, Leo Sketches

Latest Dr. Leo drawings... Hitting that Tim Burtonisque style that this short film will shape up to be! =)

Dr. Leo Sketches, getting there! Working on his outfit and stylezed form...

More Bot Sketches! I'm playing around with his head some, a sphere, cylinder, or box for a head! I am leaning towards a cylinder (prior sketches) but nonetheless, I am pretty settled on the overall shape/body...

"Artist Corner" No More...

I've been working on my thesis for the Academy of Art for about a year now. In short, the story of Artist Corner was about an Artists encoutner with a manikin that had come to life. I feel that I have accomplished enough of the branding I was looking for in my teaser, Leo, that I would like to move into a different venue for the next year upon my graduation...

Artist Corner is a great solid story, but unfortunately its a bit ambitious in various aspects, and needs a good amount of time to develop and grow. This is a common mistake I see with just about every artist, we are too darn over ambitious!! But no harm no foul, I have enough time before I make my presentation to the Academy to land a solid story, which has changed to be an artist and his manikin, to a mad scientist and his creation, a "killer" robot! Here are some initial robot concept drawings:

Norman Waiting

Click Above to Play the Movie or Right Click and do Save Target As... (2.5MB Quicktime)

This was my waiting assignment for Character Animation 2 Class at the Academy. I chose to do Norman waiting in a wheelchair for assistance, as the nurse walks by, Norman tries to get her attention only to be entirely dissed! He then pumps his fist and starts coughing. I am going to fix the timing of the nurse so that he's not watching her walk so quickly... I need to build up her walk and not throw her into motion so quick (she is off the screen by the way!)... Also, when he holds his hand out, I am going to make more subtle movements to pull off the feel that he's reaching for her more...

Norman Emotion Change

Click Above to Play the Movie or Right Click and do Save Target As... (2.5MB Quicktime)

This was my emotion change. Its a character in a plane, ready to eat when the plane hits turbulance... He's startled, waits a sec and then a huge bumpy turbulance occurs, he looks around as if to say "what the the..." =) I still need to work on him coming down after his heavy shake.. His recoupe is too subtle and goes into looking around too quickly...
